  This site has chapter summaries from Heinemann textbooks covering the edexcel A-level Mathematics syllabus. If you're on the AQA, OCR or MEI exam boards, the structure will probably be quite different, but you may still find these summaries useful. Look through them to make sure you know everything you need to know about each module. A lot of the formulae may be in the formula book, but you need to know how to use them! I'll add more summaries as I do them, but as I'm doing this in my spare time there's no guarantee as to how long it will be! Keep checking back for new summaries. You can also download past papers (up to 2006) for each of the modules.

new!I've compiled a PDF file of all the summaries, so you don't need to worry about fonts appearing correctly etc. Click here to download it. Note that the fonts seem to get screwed if you open it within the browser, so download it and open it in Adobe Reader. Please do not re-distribute this file - direct your friends to this website (http://maths.adibob.com/) if they want a copy.

The site uses a package called "jsMath" to display the maths on the summary pages. Before you start, it's best to download the jsMath fonts first. While the maths can be viewed without downloading the fonts, it will take a lot longer to load (as images for each character have to be downloaded), and it might not look too pretty, so it's best if you get the fonts ;) You can download them for free from here. Make sure once you've downloaded the fonts you then install them!

If you look at the bottom right hand of the screen, you should see a little jsMath button. If you click on that, you can configure preferences for jsMath, like how big to display the maths etc. Play around with the options, and use the equation below to see how it'll look.

\displaystyle {\rm e}^{i\pi} + 1 = 0

I don't know why, but the pages seem to render a lot better in the Firefox browser rather than IE, so if you can, use Firefox (you can download it from http://www.mozilla.com/).

Once you've got jsMath sorted, just click on the module you want to view... (the modules that are greyed out I haven't done yet). You'll have to wait a bit for all the maths stuff to load (a box will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen to tell you how much has loaded).

Please bear in mind the site is a work in progress, I'm just uploading as I go along. All the maths should be correct, but there may be some spelling errors/typos, if you notice any, just email me.

:: latest news ::

» 9th May 2007 - Added a PDF compilation of all summaries. Added countdowns for May/June 2007 exams.

» 11th January 2007 - When I moved servers to my new domain I foolishly didn't reupload the exam papers... didn't realise until now when VeeZee pointed it out! They're back up now. A bit of an exclusive resource as well since www.alevelpapers.com seems to have gone down...

» 14th June 2006 - Typos corrected in C4. Please re-review the summary to avoid confusion!

» 17th May 2006 - Uploaded past papers collected from www.alevelpapers.com - thanks to Jonny for finding them.

» 16th May 2006 - corrected a couple of typos on the summaries - the second differential of r is a lot easier to find than "f2" in M2, and interesting though it sounds, critical path analysis will be a lot more relevant to the D1 exam than critical "patch" analysis ;) Hope you're all revising hard, exams start Monday next week, so not long left...

» 24th April 2006 - New page layout (bit prettier now), with countdown to the dreaded exams. Also added summary for S1. Please be aware that summaries for M4, M5, S3 and D2 might not ever be uploaded ... (I don't have the textbooks!)

» 23rd April 2006 - Site re-uploaded (thanks Mr. Server Company...), added FP1, M1, M2, M3, S2 and D1 summaries.

» 7th April 2006 - Site first uploaded. Modules C1, C2, C3, C4 and FP3 currently available.
